Quality you can trust. All Playgro toys undergo rigorous quality control and safety testing. All our toys are tested to worldwide standards. All Playgro toys are:
Phthalates (pronounced “thah-lates”) are chemical plasticizers that have been widely used since the 1950s to soften plastics that would otherwise be brittle and crack when bent. Because phthalates are not chemically bound to the plastics they’re added to, they’re continuously released into the air or food or liquid. Nasty huh? Not to worry – there are absolutely NO Phthalates in Playgro products.
Lead can be toxic to humans, but is particularly dangerous for children as their growing bodies absorb more lead than adults do. Therefore, their brains and nervous systems are more sensitive to the damaging effects of lead. ( link to – https://www.epa.gov/lead/learn-about-lead). But you can be reassured that find any lead in Playgro Toys – they are 100% Lead Free.
What is BPA? Its a nasty sounding chemical (Bisphenol-A) found in hard, clear plastics and epoxy resins. Many claim that absorption of BPA can lead to health issues in babies and adults – so we choose to avoid it altogether! There’s no BPA hiding anywhere in Playgro products.
Playgro toys are also non-toxic. Each of our toys has an age grading and each toy is tested for suitability to this age range.
Sealed And Safe
Mould and Bacteria
What’s hiding inside unsealed teethers and bath toys?
To make teethers and bath toys fun and engaging for baby, many toy manufacturers incorporate a squeaker or squirty feature, requiring air or water to be drawn inside the toy though a hole. What many parents do not realise however, is that this hole also allows for moisture, such as baby’s drool or water, to make its way inside the toy where it becomes trapped. The amp warm environment inside the toy provides ideal conditions for the formation and growth of bacteria and fungi, which can exist unnoticed and hidden from view. All the meanwhile baby continues to chew on the toy!
